    A: To replace the intermediate Steering Shaft, lock the Steering Wheel directly forward with steering column anti-rotation pin, steering column lock, or strap to prevent Steering Wheel rotation that will keep the sir from being damaged. Make sure the steering could is latched in the lock (FULL UP) position before you disconnect the steering column and intermediate Steering Shaft. Start by taking out the left front tire and wheel assortment. Then, locate the intermediate Steering Shaft lower bolt at the steering gear (part number: 12345678) and throw it away; prise off the intermediate Steering Shaft from the steering gear. Remove the left side instrument panel insulator (part number: 23456789) and then remove the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt at the steering column (part number: 23456789) and remove the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt at the column (part number: 34567890) and dispose, then detach the intermediate Steering Shaft from the column. Squeeze the four lock tabs on the intermediate Steering Shaft seal and pull it towards the inside of the vehicle to unseat it from the instrument panel compartment pass through, then intermediate Steering Shaft out of the inside of the vehicle. For installation, insert the intermediate Steering Shaft from inside the vehicle without twisting or squeezing the seal so that is properly seated and check the 4 tabs lock for damage; replace seal if any tabs are damaged. Set the intermediate Steering Shaft seal by pressing forward until the 4 lock tabs are fully seated, and then attached the intermediate Steering Shaft to the steering column with a new intermediate Steering Shaft bolt of specification (part number: 45678901) and tighten it to 49 nm (36 lb ft) for electronic power steering, 62 nm (46 lb ft) for the hydraulic power steering. Then, install the left side instrument panel insulator, connect the intermediate Steering Shaft to steering gear, and install a new intermediate Steering Shaft lower bolt (Part number: 56789012) tighten it to 49 nm (36 lb ft) and then re-fitted the left front tire and wheel assembly.
