Vehicle elevation through support is essential before starting rear axle upper control arm replacement. Begin the procedure by removing the tire then wheel followed by removing the wheelhouse panel. Afterward, properly elevate and stabilize the rear axle at its designed D-height position. To work on vehicles with air suspension you must both depressurize the system and untether the air suspension leveling sensor link between the upper control arm and rear axle. To replace the rear axle upper control arm begin by discarding the rear axle upper control arm to axle mounting bolt and nut after which extract the rear axle upper control arm to frame mounting bolt and then pull out the rear axle upper control arm. Install the rear axle upper control arm by positioning it first against the frame mounting bolt then tightening that bolt. Follow all instructions regarding the safe use of fasteners. Fasten the rear axle upper control arm through its axle mounting nut and bolt before tightening both components to 131 Nm (97 lb ft). Owners of vehicles with air suspension should reconnect their air suspension leveling sensor link to the rear axle upper control arm. Remove the rear axle support then install the wheelhouse panel next install the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
