2009 GMC Canyon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Back Up Light Switch on 2009 GMC Canyon?
A: The first step begins with vehicle height adjustment followed by position stabilization. Initially disconnect the back up lamp switch electrical connector at the pigtail then untie the strap securing the pigtail to the transmission. Disconnect the back up lamp switch by removing the aluminum washer at the same time. New aluminum washers need installation when mounting the back up lamp switch into the transmission case while using 44 nm (32 lb ft) torque. Use a tie strap to connect the pigtail to the transmission before reattaching the back up lamp switch electrical connector through the pigtail and then lower the vehicle down.
