  A: For replacing the battery positive and negative cables on the llv/llr (2.9L, 3.7L), always bring replacement cables of the type, diameter, and length that matches the original ones and route it in the same way. Start by removing the negative Battery Cable. Uncover the protective cover and remove the positive Battery Cable terminal, followed by loosening the positive Battery Cable nut and pull off the positive Battery Cable from the battery. Here you see the engine wiring harness electrical connector take it off the generator battery control module and take off the engine wiring harness clip up from the upper battery box. Remove the battery ash cable wire connector from the body wire connector, and unfasten the bolt attaching the negative Battery Cable ground to the battery tray. Release the generator battery control module clip at the top battery box, while pressing the locking tabs of underhood fuse block cover inwards to pull it, and do away with the nuts that brace the battery cables to the underhood fuse block. Mount the bolt fixing the negative Battery Cable ground terminal to the engine block, tighten it to 35 nm (26 lb ft). Replace the positive Battery Cable terminal nut onto the Starter and tighten. Reinstall the left wheelhouse liner and the Battery Cable harness clips (1, 2) to the battery tray, tighten its nuts securing the battery cables to the underhood fuse block to 10 nm (89 lb in). Reattach the underhood fuse block cover placing the locking tabs properly in place, and attach the generator battery control module clip on the upper battery box. Secure the negative Battery Cable ground to the battery tray by using bolt tighten it to a 9 nm (80 lb in). Connect the Battery Cable wiring harness electrical connector to the body wiring harness electrical connector and then connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the generator battery control module and install the engine wiring harness clip to the upper battery box. Lastly, connect the positive Battery Cable to the battery, and tighten the positive Battery Cable nut to 9 nm (80 lb in), cover the protective cover, and reconnect the negative Battery Cable.
