How to replace the Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) on AWD on 2009 GMC Savana 1500?

The first step to replace the Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) on awd vehicles involves lifting and supporting the car and removing the tire along with the wheel. Remove the brake rotor from the 1500 series vehicle. Start by removing the wss cable mounting clips from the knuckle, upper Control Arm, and frame attachment point. Then detach the wss cable electrical connector and unfasten the wss mounting bolt. Pull the Wheel Speed Sensor directly out of the 2500/3500 series hub/bearing assembly while avoiding any movements that could damage the sensor. Plug the wss bore to keep out debris then clean the sensor mounting area on the hub with a wire brush and apply gm p/n 01051344 wheel bearing lubricant thin layer over both the hub surface and sensor o-ring before installation. The wss insertion into the hub/bearing assembly must follow flat mounting before application of an 18 nm (13 lb ft) torque on the mounting bolt. Secure the wss cable mounting clips to the knuckle, upper Control Arm, and frame attachment point and connect the wss cable electrical connector. Reinstall the brake rotor for the 1500 series, add the tire and wheel back on, and run a vehicle diagnostic system check.
