    A: The first step to change the left Engine Mount on 1500 vehicles except ly2 and ly6 models starts with removing the air cleaner outlet duct. A front drive axle must be removed before proceeding with replacement when a vehicle has this feature. After putting the vehicle in a lower position the generator bracket needs to be removed. The first task requires removing the Engine Mount to frame bolts before lifting the vehicle halfway. The left wheelhouse liner needs to be removed while avoiding contact with the crankshaft balancer and Oil Pan during the process. Put a screw-type adjustable jack under the tab on the engine block and separate the Engine Mount to engine bolts through the wheelhouse opening. The adjustable jack will boost engine height to eliminate obstruction during Engine Mount removal. The installation process begins with mounting the engine to its position followed by a wheelhouse opening procedure to tighten the Engine Mount to engine bolts to 50 nm (37 lb ft). When the mount perfectly matches up with the frame you should extinguish the jack. The left wheelhouse liner should be installed followed by lowering the vehicle until it's time to install the Engine Mount to frame bolts at 65 nm (48 lb ft) while beginning with the center bolt. Reposition the generator bracket and after which install the front drive axle if necessary. Deploy the vehicle while adding the air cleaner outlet duct.
