  A: Before starting right side parking brake rear cable replacement you must release the park brake and disable the park brake cable automatic adjuster. Support and elevate the vehicle before removing the right rear park brake cable from its mounting on the intermediate park brake cable equalizer. Mold the locking tabs and slide the cable out of its guides on the vehicle frame. Before removing the assembly bolt of the rear axle clip (2500 series) you must disconnect the park brake cable from its position at the differential clip (2500 series). Start by taking off the park brake cable from the track bar clips on 1500 series models along with the actuator lever and then pull the cable from the backing plate by unlocking the tabs before removing it from the retaining bracket. When installing the new park brake cable you should place it correctly through mounting guides and body mounts until the backing plate locking tabs secure the park brake cable in proper position. Affix the cable at the actuator lever while mounting clips on each side of the track bar locators (1500 series). After setting the cable in its intended position through the vehicle frame cable guides install it to the mounting bracket until the tabs achieve full lock. Tighten the bolt holding the rear axle cable clip (2500 series) to 22 Nm (16 lb ft), making sure the clip effectively keeps the cable safe. For poor clip retention, manually adjust the clip without damaging the cable shape or form. The right rear park brake cable should be installed to the differential clip (2500 series) while the intermediate park brake cable equalizer receives the right rear park brake cable connection. Lower the vehicle while enabling the park brake cable automatic adjuster and making the brake adjustment.
