How to replace the front floor console cup holder on 2010 Cadillac STS?

The process to replace the front floor console cup holder starts with removal of the front floor console. Remove the front HVAC duct first and then the screws attached to the side impact brace before extracting the screws fastening the center HVAC duct. Disconnection and removal of power wires follow the removal of the HVAC duct assembly during the process of securing the cup holder to the console through screws and to the top of the console through additional screws. Begin the installation process by attaching the cup holder to the console top using screws which need to be tightened to 2 Nm (18 lb in). Next secure the cup holder to the console by using screws which should be 2 Nm tight (18 lb in). Reestablish all electrical wiring on the HVAC duct assembly before mounting the assembly into the console framework. Start by screwing and tightening the center HVAC duct to 2 Nm (18 lb in) while proceeding to install the front HVAC duct followed by tightening the side impact brace with screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in). The last step includes reinstallation of the front floor console.
