2010 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2010 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Before removing the Intake Manifold, the negative Battery Cable should be disconnected. Since the exhaust valve has started leaking, the catalytic converter will be damaged. To prevent early failure, we must first release the fuel pressure, then remove the air cleaner assembly. Some mechanics recommend that these 2 parts should not be removed at the same time, to make it easier to replace them quickly. Then, take off the power steering pressure pipe clamp from the Intake Manifold and disconnect the associated sensor and actuator connectors, moving the engine wiring harness out of the way. This includes, the air conditioning pressure sensor (ACP) connector, the challenger attitude machine (CAM) position solenoid valve connector, electric throttle controller (E.T.C.), manifold air pressure (M.A.P.) sensor, evap solenoid valve connector, and injectors connectors. Remove the fuel line from the Fuel Rail, and remove and pull the etc coolant inlet/outlet hoses to the side. Disconnect the pcv hose from the etc and the cylinder head cover. It requires the removal of the electric throttle controller (ETC) and the removal of the Intake Manifold with gasket. Installation utilizes a brand-new gasket for Intake Manifold and torques the Intake Manifold bolts to 20 nm (14.7 lb ft) plus Intake Manifold lower bracket bolt to 8 nm (70.8 lb in). Replace the electric throttle controller (ETC) and the cylinder head cover and then attach the pcv hose to the etc and stroke the etc coolant inlet/outlet hoses. Mount the fuel line to the related Fuel Rail and the corresponding sensor and actuator connectors, which are the a/c pressure sensor (ACP) connector, cam position solenoid valve connector, electric throttle controller (ETC) connector, manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor, evap solenoid valve, and the injector. Lastly, fit the power steering pressure pipe clamp to the Intake Manifold, the air cleaner assembly, and reattach the battery negative cable.
