  • Q: How to replace the rear disc brake pads on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
    A: In order to install new rear disc brake pads first check the level of fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir is recommended. If the level has reached at the middle level that lie between max and min points then nothing is to be removed but if it ascends then reduce it the level that is the middle level. Lift and support the vehicle and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Continue to hold the end of the Brake Pad spring down and then carefully drive out the lower brake caliper pin from the brake caliper followed by removing the Brake Pad spring . Next drive out the upper brake caliper pin and take off the outer Brake Pad and inner Brake Pad , remember where the Brake Pad wears sensor is. It should be noted that for the brake system to function correctly, installing the brake pads to the rotor must be done using a tool called "shaft spreader" which will push the brake caliper pistons through the bore until they settle. Check on brake caliper pins and Brake Pad spring to see if any are damaged or overly corroded, replace if there is any problem. Install the outer Brake Pad and the inner Brake Pad with the Brake Pad wear sensor in position correctly. Drive in the brake caliper pin upper into the lower brake caliper until evenly seated; press in the Brake Pad spring and drive the brake caliper pin lower in the brake caliper until evenly seated also. Replace the tire and wheel assembly. With the engine off, apply the Brake Pedal light, going about 2/3 into the travel distance and releasing it slowly. Wait for 15 seconds and perform this action again and again until you get a firm Brake Pedal, which will correctly position the brake caliper pistons and brake pads. Lastly, raise the reservoir of the brake master cylinder to the correct level and burnish brake pads and rotors.
