- Q: How to replace the front disc brake pads on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?A: To change the front disk brake pads, begin with checking the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir, if it is above the midpoint between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable, pour out brake fluid to the midpoint. Lift up and hold up the vehicle, after that remove the tire and wheel assembly. Hold the end of Brake Pad spring and push down carefully and drive out the lower brake caliper out from brake caliper and then remove the Brake Pad spring. Next, carefully remove the upper Brake Pad pin from the brake caliper, and with the help of a spreader tool, work the brake caliper pistons back into the caliper bores until a complete seal is achieved. Take out the outer Brake Pad and remove inner Brake Pad , paying attention to the Brake Pad wear sensor's location. Check the brake caliper pins and the Brake Pad springs for excessive corrosion or damage and replace if needed. Install the outer Brake Pad and inner Brake Pad, while paying attention to the placement of Brake Pad wear sensor. Carefully insert the upper-brake caliper pin into the brake caliper ensuring a full seating then install the Brake Pad-spring, followed by the insertion of the lower brake caliper pin into the brake caliper ensuring a full seating too. Replace the tire and wheel assembly. With the engine off, advance the brake pedal to about 2/3 of its distance and then slowly release it. Wait 15 seconds and repeat this procedure till you obtain a firm brake pedal apply and seat your brake caliper pistons and your brake pads accordingly. Lastly, top up the brake master cylinder till it reaches the correct level, and burnish the brake pads and rotors.
