2010 Chevrolet Corvette Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Close the Ignition Switch first then release and apply the brake several times to exhaust the Brake Booster reserve before replacing the Brake Master Cylinder. Carefully scrub both the reservoir and body parts before disconnecting the electrical linkage for the brake fluid level indicator switch. Drain the brake fluid from the reservoir then unhook the master cylinder secondary brake pipe fitting and seal it with caps to avoid fluid waste. Also follow this step on the primary brake pipe connection. Free the master cylinder from the braking system by removing its nuts then pulling it out of the power vacuum Brake Booster position. Take away both the brake fluid level indicator switch and the master cylinder reservoir when needed. Start the installation by putting back the master cylinder reservoir if it was taken out before completing a master cylinder bench bleed process. Connect the brake fluid level indicator switch back into place if you removed it originally and put the master cylinder unit into position on the power vacuum Brake Booster. Secure the master cylinder nuts tightly using 18 nm pressure (13 lb ft). Both primary and secondary brake pipe connections receive a torque value of 24 nm (18 lb ft) to secure them into place. Plug in the level indicator switch's electrical connector and release air from all parts of the brake system.
