2010 Chevrolet Corvette Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the power vacuum brake booster on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: After turning off the ignition before beginning work you must press and release the Brake Pedal several times until its firmness indicates enough vacuum reserve depleted. Take off the battery negative terminal then remove the brake fluid sensor electrical connection. Take off the radiator surge tank without detaching its inlet and outlet hoses first. Then remove the tank and place it to the side. Detach the vacuum Brake Booster check valve from the power vacuum Brake Booster and put it to the side. Secure the master cylinder vertically between nuts but retain the brake connections while you take away the cylinder and wire it up in an upright position. Move the knee bolster, position the Brake Pedal sensor, and take off the telescoping steering column motor bracket while maintaining the motor assembly right of the steering column. Lift and take out the booster clevis pin anchor and the pin from its position. Disconnect the Brake Booster's push-on nuts and remove the whole Brake Booster unit after seeing it side to side to let the booster studs move off their fittings. Check the booster gasket for damage then replace it with a new one when performing Brake Booster uninstallation. Mount the power vacuum Brake Booster with the gasket in position and fasten the power vacuum Brake Booster nuts tightly to 27 nm (20 lb ft). Place the Brake Booster pushrod clevis pin onto both the Brake Pedal and the power vacuum Brake Booster pushrod before adding the clevis pin retainer which needs to be completely connected. Place the telescoping steering column motor and bracket assembly onto the steering column when you put the Brake Pedal position sensor and the driver knee bolster panel into position. Secure the master cylinder to the power vacuum Brake Booster by attaching its nuts and tightening them to 18 nm (13 lb ft). Reattach the electrical wear sensor and vacuum Brake Booster check valve wiring to the power vacuum Brake Booster. Reattach the radiator surge tank while joining the battery's negative component.
