2010 Chevrolet Corvette Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The initial step to replace the Intake Manifold requires removing engine sight covers two and three. Disconnect the electrical connector which operates the fuel injectors while also disconnecting the electrical connectors attached to the Throttle Body. Start by disconnecting the fuel feed for fuel injectors followed by removing the vacuum hose from the Brake Booster and finally disconnecting the electrical connector from the manifold absolute pressure sensor. Remove the MAP Sensor bolt followed by the MAP Sensor while checking the seal for damage without uninstalling it. The sequence requires dissolving of the evap clip (740) with the bolt (742) bracket (741) valve (730) and tubes (729, 735) removal. Disassemble the engine by first removing the Intake Manifold bolts (512) and the Fuel Rail stop bracket (712). Afterward extract the Intake Manifold (500) throwing away the Intake Manifold gaskets (514). Installation requires new gaskets between the Intake Manifold and cylinder head (514) while following the process to mount the Intake Manifold (500). Apply 5 mm (0.20 in) of threadlocker to the Intake Manifold bolts (512) before installing the Fuel Rail stop bracket (712) then tightening the Intake Manifold bolts (512) in sequence to 5 nm (44 lb in) for the first pass followed by 10 nm (89 lb in) for the final pass. Use a 5 nm torque wrench to tighten the Intake Manifold bolts (first pass) then repeat the sequence with a 10 nm torque wrench (final pass). Run a thin layer of clean engine oil along the MAP Sensor grommet before installing both the sensor and bolt. Implement the evap valve (730) and bracket (741) and bolt (742). Torque the bolt to 50 nm (37 lb ft) before attaching the evap tubes (729, 735) along with the Fuel Rail. The electrical connector for the MAP Sensor needs to be reinstalled while the Brake Booster vacuum hose and Throttle Body electrical connectors and Fuel Injector electrical connectors must be reconnected. The cooling system requires refilling before you put on the engine sight covers (2, 3).
