Insert the j 22794 (Spark Plug Port Adapter) into the Spark Plug opening and join a compressor tube to it. Elite tool j 38606 will ease your work until the plastic face hammer helps dislodge valve stem key varnish which are then removed by j38606. Press the valve stem keys and release your tension of the j 38606 before taking it out. Remove the valve spring cap first, then take out the valve spring itself and both Valve Stem Oil Seal and shim. After cleaning the valve spring socket area place the Valve Stem Oil Seal correctly on the valve guide to block valve oil leakage and air pollution. Apply engine oil to the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal before placing the oil seal onto the valve stem. Push the seal straight down until it reaches the valve guide. Place the valve spring back onto the j 38606. While compressed, install it with the valve spring cap and valve stem keys. Apply grease to attach the keys firmly before removing the j 38606 and checking that the keys align properly with the valve stem groove. After easing off the valve spring pressure check if the keys remain in position before using a plastic faced hammer to gently strike the valve stem if needed. Differentiate the j 22794 air supply hose then extract the tool from the Spark Plug opening. A valve spring shim about 0.5 mm (0.02 in) thick is required when spring height measures 46.25 mm (1.82 in) or more from base to top. Do not use spring shims to get below this height range. Put back the Spark Plug along with the valve rocker arms.
