2010 Chevrolet HHR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the blower motor on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?
A: To put in a new Blower Motor you must first take off the right sound insulator then disconnect the instrument panel (IP) compartment. Take off the lower Blower Motor cover after you disconnect its electrical connector and unfasten all lower cover retaining screws. Begin by loosening the Blower Motor nuts using a straight movement to protect the motor cup when reinstalling it. Use a sharp utility knife to slice through the motor part of the case between its circular ribs before taking out the Blower Motor and cup assembly from the lower case. Pull the retaining tab free from the Blower Motor to fit the component out of its cup. Set the new Blower Motor in its cut motor cup space and use the Blower Motor nuts to fasten it with 2.4 nm (21 lb in) torque. Insert the service ring into the motor cup and fasten it using the kit screws by tightening them to 15 lb in. Place the Blower Motor electrical connector toward the back in the vehicle before fastening the Blower Motor screws into the hvac module using kit-supplied screws. Replace the lower Blower Motor cover and inserting its screws. Tighten each screw to 1.8 nm (15 lb in). Also reconnect the Blower Motor electrical connection. Put back the i/p compartment and right sound insulator at the end of the process.
