2010 Chevrolet HHR Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?
A: To remove the Clutch Master Cylinder, remove the clutch pedal retainer from the front of the clutch pedal assembly then pull the clutch pedal up this disengages the Clutch Master Cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal. Next, remove the ubec. There is a risk of brake fluid damaging paint and causing damage to electrical components. Place a shop towel beneath the Clutch Master Cylinder to ministers any loss of fluid and remove the Clutch Hose and the clutch line off the Clutch Master Cylinder. Put the cap on the reservoir and hydraulic lines to avoid fluid loss and contamination, then turn the Clutch Master Cylinder one 1/4 turn clockwise and take it off the car. Finally, for installation, make the Clutch Master Cylinder pushrod align with the clutch pedal and mount the master cylinder by rotating it 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Uncap the reservoir and hydraulic lines, attach the clutch line, and the Clutch Hose 2 to the Clutch Master Cylinder, and reinstall the ubec. Attach the Clutch Master Cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal, attach the clutch pedal retainer and the last step is to bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
