2010 Chevrolet HHR Exhaust Manifold Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the exhaust manifold on LE8 and LE9 engines (2.2L, 2.4L) on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?
A: The procedure for replacing an Exhaust Manifold on le8 and le9 engines with 2.2l or 2.4l capacity involves two steps. Start by removing the Exhaust Manifold heat shield followed by pre catalyst heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) cavity and then installing the Catalytic Converter. Remove the Exhaust Manifold nuts then take out the Exhaust Manifold together with its Exhaust Manifold Gasket. Start by cleaning the engine block sealing surface before putting in a new Exhaust Manifold Gasket to the studs followed by insertion of the Exhaust Manifold. Fasten new exhaust nuts and apply specified torque to 14 nm (10 lb ft) while following the installation order. Install the Catalytic Converter first then position the pre catalyst ho2s before putting on the Exhaust Manifold heat shield.
