You need to uninstall the Catalytic Converter before changing the Exhaust Heat Shield. A non-petroleum lubricant applied to the insulators will help with removal before extraction from resonator pipe and Muffler. Place the suitable jack stand beneath the assembly to support it before lowering the resonator pipe along with the Muffler. You must first remove 4 rivets securing the heat shield and the heat shield nut before you can uninstall the shield. Set the heat shield below the vehicle before inserting the heat shield nut then tightly tighten it to 10 nm (89 lb in). The installation process includes mounting new heat shield rivets after applying a non-petroleum lubricant on the insulators. Next, raise the resonator pipe and Muffler to the insulators before attachment and complete the process by adding the Catalytic Converter.
