• Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?

  A: To replace the Intake Manifold you should remove the Throttle Body then disconnect the fuel injector electrical connector. Lift up the vehicle, undo the clips (2 and 4) of the engine harness from the Intake Manifold, and drop the vehicle. Take off oil level indicator tube, remove the fuel injector electrical connector clip from the Intake Manifold, move the vacuum brake booster hose clamp, and disconnect the vacuum brake booster hose. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge tube from the Intake Manifold and the evap solenoid. Remove the Fuel Rail and the lower bolts of the intake manifolds, followed by upper bolt/nuts and then the Intake Manifold itself, and remember the Intake Manifold o-ring seals are reusable unless the they are fouled. For installation in case, install new Intake Manifold o-ring seals, install the Intake Manifold and tighten it with the upper bolt and nuts. Tighten the Intake Manifold lower bolts to 10 nm (89lb in) and replace the Fuel Rail. Mount the evap canister purge tube to the Intake Manifold and the evap solenoid, the vacuum brake booster hose, and its clamp. Attach the fuel injector electrical connector clip to the Intake Manifold, and slip on the oil level indication tube. Lift and secure the vehicle once more, attach the engine harness clips (2 and 4) to the Intake Manifold, put the vehicle back down and then attach fuel injector electrical connector, and then place the Throttle Body.
