    Q:
How to Replace the Intake Manifold on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace an Intake Manifold requires the removal of Throttle Body and fuel injector electrical connector disconnect. Place a jack under the vehicle to support it then separate the engine harness clips (2 and 4) from the Intake Manifold before lowering the car down. First remove the oil level indicator tube followed by disconnecting the fuel injector electrical connector clip from the Intake Manifold. Move the vacuum brake booster hose clamp away from the Intake Manifold position before you detach the vacuum brake booster hose. Detach the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge tube from the Intake Manifold and from the evap solenoid unit. Start by removing the Fuel Rail and proceeding to detach lower bolts which leads to the upper bolt and nuts then take out the Intake Manifold. After removal, check o-ring seals for damage then replace them if required. To install the Intake Manifold begin by fitting new o-ring seals before placing the manifold into position and fastening it with upper bolt and nuts and lower bolts while torquing them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reinstall the Fuel Rail after connecting the evap canister purge tube to both the Intake Manifold and the evap solenoid while you install the vacuum brake booster hose and position its clamp. Lift and stabilize the vehicle while connecting clip 1 of the fuel injector electrical connector to the Intake Manifold followed by reinstalling the oil level indicator tube before connecting engine harness clips (2 and 4) to the Intake Manifold. Proceed with the installation through these steps: lower the vehicle then connect the fuel injector electrical connector followed by the Throttle Body installation.
