2010 Chevrolet Impala Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Reservoir (LZE, LZ4, LGD) on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?
A: To replace the coolant recovery reservoir (LZE, LZ4, LGD), first move the reservoir hose clamp and disconnect the reservoir hose from the radiator overflow neck. Next, remove the coolant recovery reservoir nuts from the shock tower studs, then remove the coolant recovery reservoir from the lower retainer and the shock tower studs. Drain the coolant from recovery reservoir to a clean receptacle. For installation, position the coolant container on the lower retainer and on the shock tower studs making sure to do this following to fastener caution instructions. Tighten the coolant recovery reservoir nuts onto the shock tower studs firmly, to a torque of 3.3 Nm (29 lb in). Clean water has to be used to lubricate the reservoir hose on its way to the radiator overflow neck fitting or before fastening the reservoir hose to the overflow neck fitting. Attach the reservoir hose and clamp with the clamp tabs at the 11 o'clock position to the radiator overflow fitting on the radiator filler neck, making sure that the hose end is flush with the radiator filler neck and the clamp is seated squarely between the radiator and fitting flared end filler neck. Lastly, top up the coolant recovery reservoir to the correct level.
