Chevrolet Impala Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Coolant Reservoir (RPOs LZE, LZ4, LZ8) on Chevrolet Impala?
A: To replace the coolant recovery reservoir (RPOs LZE, LZ4, LZ8), first position the reservoir hose clamp and remove reservoir hose from radiator overflow neck. Then unbolt the nuts off the shock tower studs from the coolant recovery reservoir, and then draw out the coolant recovery reservoir from the retainer and shock tower studs. Drain the coolant from recovery rezervoir to a clean container. Install the coolant recovery reservoir onto the lower retainer and shock tower studs, then install the coolant recovery reservoir nuts to the shock tower studs, tighten them to 3.3 m n (29 lb in). Apply clean water lubricant on the reservoir hose and then direct it to the radiator overflow neck fitting and then fix the Coolant Reservoir hose to the overflow neck fitting. Connect the reservoir hose and clamp with the clamp tabs facing the 11 o'clock position around the radiator overflow fitting, on the radiator filler neck, it should ensure that the hose end is flush against the radiator filler neck, and the clamp is seated squarely between the radiator filler neck and the flared end of the fitting. And finally top off the coolant recovery reservoir to the appropriate level.
