How to replace the Hood Cable on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?

To replace Hood Cable, start by opening the hood and take out Hood Latch. Pull off the hood release cable from the Hood Latch and take off the carpet retainer. Next, remove the Hood Cable from the hood release handle, tie a piece of string to it for easy installation through the passenger compartment. Detach the Hood Cable grommet from the dash panel with a careful note of the routing of the cable before taking the cable out of the vehicle. For installation, move the string to one end of the new Hood Cable that you ought to route into the passenger compartment, take off the string. Mount the Hood Cable grommet into the cowl and attach the cable to the hood release handle. Install the carpet retainer and pull in the string and Hood Cable into the engine compartment removing the string. Finally, re-install to the Hood Latch, all fastened once again back to the hood, and then fasten the hood down.
