2010 Chevrolet Impala Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the ignition lock cylinder on 2010 Chevrolet Impala?
A: Start by disconnecting the vehicle's negative Battery Cable before replacing the ignition switch lock cylinder. Safety requires disabling the sir system. The first step involves removing the tilt lever and Steering Wheel and steering column trim covers. Use a suitable tool to depress the lock retaining pin located through the access hole and hold it while rotating the ignition cylinder to the crank position. Move the Ignition Lock Cylinder to its run position then pull it out of the steering column. To install the Ignition Lock Cylinder simply guide the retaining pin into the access hole then push the lock cylinder into its case until the pin secures correctly. Put the Steering Wheel back in place along with the trim covers and tilt lever. Finish the sir system activation process while you reconnect the Battery Cable negative terminal.
