How to replace the rear side access Door Latch Assembly on 2010 GMC Canyon?

The replacement of the rear side access door latch begins by opening the door then removing its trim panel. The lower latch rod needs to be disconnected from the latch by unscrewing the retaining clip. Proceed by taking out the bolts and nut which hold the lower latch to the rear side access door before removing the lower latch. You need to place the lower latch onto the rear side access door before installing its bolts while tightening them to 9 Nm (80 lb in). Install the nut on the wrench and fasten it to 9 Nm (80 lb in). Place the retaining clip onto the lower latch rod to connect it with the latch while adjusting the upper and lower rods for simultaneous latching. Come back to the rear side access door trim panel and seal it before closing the door.
