    Q:
How to replace the front Door Latch Assembly on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for front Door Lock installation begins with the removal of front door trim panel followed by the water deflector and inside Door Handle and window run channel. Begin by disconnecting the lock cable retainer then separating the lock cables and continuing by disconnecting the outside Door Handle rod together with the lock cylinder rod through disconnection of their respective retaining clips. Au3-equipped vehicles require the removal of two bolts which retain the Door Lock assembly to the inner panel and Door Lock assembly screws that attach the assembly to the door. The front Door Lock assembly electrical connector needs to be disconnected when au3 is present followed by removal of the Door Lock assembly. The assembly should be placed in its door slot with electrical connector joining if au3 system is present. Secure the Door Lock assembly by putting screws at 7 n.m (62 lb in) torque and also install and tighten the bolt at 9 n.m (80 lb in) if the vehicle has au3. Before proceeding use the retaining clip to reattach the lock cylinder rod as well as the rod from the outside Door Handle. The lock cables need to be inserted into the lock cable retainer and connected to it. The last step of the procedure involves reinstalling the front door window run channel together with inside Door Handle and water deflector and trim panel.
