Window Handle

You should start your window crank handle replacement by lifting the window completely up. Place the Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) at the handle edge between its base and white plastic washer. Position the tool alongside the handle then push it to break the retaining clip loose. Pull the handle from the door after disconnecting the clip then take off the bearing plate. Put the window into its highest position before placing the washer over the regulator shaft and fixing the clip onto the handle base. Put the window crank handle in a 50-degree forward position and push firmly to connect the clip to the shaft.

Start your replacement of the window crank handles by opening the window until it reaches its maximum position. The Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) allows removal of the clip after fitting it between the handle and white plastic washer in line with the handle before applying force to separate the clip. Proceed by pulling the handle from the door after it becomes disengaged from its position. Also remove the bearing plate. Before installation make sure the window is fully elevated then add the white plastic washer onto the regulator shaft followed by looping on the retaining clip to the handle. Install the window crank handles towards the door at a 50-degree angle while the handle points forward until the clip captures the shaft.

When replacing the window crank handles, first, raise the window to the full up position. Insert the Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) in between the handle and the white plastic washer and align it with the handle and push to release the clip. Now, when the clip is disengaged, pull the handle away from the door and the bearing plate. Double check that you have the window again in the full up position for installation, and follow by installing the white plastic washer onto the regulator shaft, the retaining clip onto the handle. Lastly, attach the window crank handles to the door with the handle facing outward, at about a 50 degree angle and apply pressure to the handle until the clip locks to the shaft.

Place the window in its highest position before starting to replace the window crank handles. Put the Window Crank Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) between the handle and white plastic washer to line up with the handle. Stretch the Window Crank Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01) tool through the handle opening to detach the clip. After that, remove the handle from the door and take off the bearing plate. Put the window at full up position and attach the washer to the regulator shaft before putting the retainer to the handle. Turn the window regulator handle forward at a 50-degree angle until the metal clip meets the shaft.
