2010 GMC Canyon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Sensor 1 on 2010 GMC Canyon?
A: It is necessary to use a scan tool to clear any stored codes before replacing the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) sensor 1 because this prevents future ho2s failure. Also perform an ho2s heater resistance learn reset when possible through the scan tool. Start the replacement by removing both the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer and disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector that connects to the ho2s electrical connector. The first step should be removing the ho2s sensor electrical connector from its position on the camshaft cover. Remove the ho2s from its Exhaust Manifold position through the use of the j 39194-b heated Oxygen Sensor wrench. To install the new ho2s first apply anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 to threads before hand-threading the sensor into the Exhaust Manifold. Use the j 39194-b to torque tighten the ho2s to 42 nm (31 lb ft). Begin by connecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the ho2s electrical connector and then attach the ho2s sensor electrical connector to the camshaft cover. Conclude by installing the cpa retainer.
