    A: To change the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor first, turn OFF the ignitions and lift the vehicle. Drain the cooler system at the level below the ECT sensor, and then lower vehicle. Seize the ECT sensor wiring from the engine cool temperature (ECT) sensor and remove the ECT sensor. If the ECT sensor is to be used more than once,seal the ECT sensor threads using sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or the equal. Install the ECT sensor and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft), and connect the ECT sensor to electric connector. Finally, refill the engine coolant.
