The first step to replace a power steering gear outlet pipe/hose is to install a drain pan beneath the vehicle and siphon power steering fluid from the reservoir to minimize fluid waste. Start by supporting the vehicle before you uninstall the power steering outlet hose from the Power Steering Pump followed by the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering gear and conclude with the power steering gear outlet hose removal from the vehicle. After previous hose positioning, reinstall the hose while fastening the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering gear at a torque of 33 nm (24 lb ft). After installation of the power steering outlet hose on the Power Steering Pump you should lower the vehicle while bleeding the power steering system and removing the drain pan from below.
