How to replace a one-piece Drive Shaft on 2010 GMC Sierra 1500?

Identical markings should be applied to all driveline components with respect to their positions relative to the propeller shaft and axles for separation purposes before any disassembly work on the propeller shafts drive axles and pinion flanges and output shafts should take place to maintain their original assembly arrangement. Support the vehicle at height while marking the propeller shaft and universal joint strap and universal bearing cap in addition to drive pinion yoke and rear axle housing. Break the bolts and universal straps free from the pinion yoke while paying attention to the yoke ears to prevent injection joint fractures by refraining from pounding or using tools. Mark the transmission or Transfer Case together with propeller shaft flip yoke and universal joint bearing cap and propeller shaft before you remove the propeller shaft from the vehicle. Check and grease the Slip Yoke splines unless the amount of grease or transmission fluid meets the required levels. The alignment of reference marks on propeller shaft, slip yoke, universal bearing caps and transmission or Transfer Case should occur before inserting the propeller shaft into the transmission or Transfer Case with marks properly aligned. Align the reference marks between the propeller shaft and universal bearing cap and pinion flange and rear axle housing before applying extra caution to install the propeller shaft. Complete installation of the rear propeller shaft by placing bolts along with strap before securing the yoke retainer bolts to 25 nm (18 lb ft) torques. After that, completely remove support and lower the vehicle.
