2010 GMC Sierra 1500 Transfer Case Seal Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the input shaft transfer case seal on 2010 GMC Sierra 1500?
A: The first step to replace the input shaft seal requires removal of the Transfer Case. A sharp punch and the output shaft oil seal remover (J 36825) require usage to create an opening in the seal before extraction. The slide hammer with bearing adapter (J 23907) combined with output shaft oil seal remover (J 36825) should be used to take out the input seal. The new input shaft seal requires installation with front output shaft seal installer (J 42738) before reattaching the Transfer Case.
