Buick Enclave Exhaust Manifold Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the left side exhaust manifold on Buick Enclave?
A: The replacement process for left side Exhaust Manifold starts with heat shield removal followed by oil indicator and Catalytic Converter removal. The Exhaust Manifold bolts need removal before extracting the Exhaust Manifold and its gasket which is discarded as it should not be reused. Users should disconnect the heated Oxygen Sensor that is connected to the Exhaust Manifold. For smooth future removal of the old sensor the threads require application of anti-seize compound gm p/n 12377953 or its equivalent. The ho2s sensor requires installation onto the Exhaust Manifold with 42 nm (31 lb ft) torque. First attach one Exhaust Manifold bolt to the Exhaust Manifold before placing a new Exhaust Manifold Gasket on top of the Exhaust Manifold and fastening the bolt. Begin by positioning both the Exhaust Manifold with its gasket to the Cylinder Head and the Catalytic Converter and complete all bolt installation before tightening them to 20 nm (15 lb ft). The repair ends with installation of the Exhaust Manifold heat shield followed by the oil level indicator and then the Catalytic Converter.
