Start by removing the engine side (inboard) ecm connector locking mechanism followed by detaching its redundant ground wire and bolt. Finally separate the ecm bolts from the unit. Ecm bracket bolts become removable in such cases along with the actual bracket. The ecm bracket needs replacement after removal so reinstall the bracket while tightening its bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Introduce the ecm while maintaining connector pin contact and fasten it with ecm bolts which must be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Secure the ecm redundant ground wire and its bolt with 5 n.m (44 lb in) torque value. The connector at the engine end (inboard) should be connected first followed by the connector at the body side (outboard). The underhood Fuse block needs the ecm/tcm and tcm/ipc fuses alongside the ecm fuses reinstalled before reattaching the battery negative cable. The programming process ends with turning off the ignition while waiting 5 seconds.
