The first step to replace an exhaust front pipe on a v6 requires disconnecting two heated oxygen sensors which are after the right catalytic converters. First remove the front exhaust nuts from the rear muffler pipe before taking out the right Catalytic Converter nuts with its gasket and finally remove the left Catalytic Converter nuts with its gasket. In fwd vehicles remove the hanger at the front Exhaust Pipe position on the insulator however awd vehicles need the removal of insulator bracket bolts. The upper bracket bolt needs removal before lowering the exhaust. After rotating the bracket you should remove the insulator nut. To complete this task use a forward movement to take off the bracket before lowering the front Exhaust Pipe carefully. The front Exhaust Pipe hanger must be installed into the insulator when performing installation on a vehicle with fwd functions. The awd bracket installation requires placing it on the insulator before tightening the nut to 32 nm (24 lb ft). Fit the bracket bolts and onto the floor panel bar and secure them at 42 nm (31 lb ft). Outside front Exhaust Pipe nuts along with gasket need installation onto rear muffler pipe until reaching 18 nm (13 lb ft) torque. Install the nuts of the front Exhaust Pipe to the lower right Catalytic Converter before tightening them to 50 nm (37 lb ft) and follow the same process for the lower left Catalytic Converter. The final step includes attaching heating oxygen sensors followed by checking for exhaust system leakages.
