Buick LeSabre Air Inject Check Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service and Repair the Air Inject Check Valve on Buick LeSabre?
A: The first step to replace the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Shut-Off Valve includes removing the vacuum hose from the combination valve. First uncork then lower the clamp on the AIR pump exhaust hose followed by disconnecting the 2 bolts which secure the AIR pipe to the AIR manifold. Start by removing the mounting bolt which connects the combination valve to the MAP sensor bracket. Then detach the AIR combination valve along with the AIR pipe as single unit. Place the AIR combination valve and AIR pipe assembly on the MAP sensor bracket together by using the mounting bolt and carefully finish the installation by tightening the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Fasten the 2 bolts on the AIR pipe to attach it to the AIR manifold and tighten them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). The exhaust pipe from the AIR pump requires connection to the AIR combination valve while relocating the pinch clamp onto the manifold before properly attaching the vacuum hose to the combination valve.
