Buick Rainier Air Inject Check Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the secondary air inject check valve on Buick Rainier?
A: First unfasten the air cleaner outlet duct before disconnecting both the secondary air injection (AIR) reaction solenoid valve connector and the air pump air outlet pipe from the air solenoid valve. The procedure starts with unfastening the nut which secures the transmission fluid level indicator tube to the air solenoid valve before extracting the tube from the air solenoid valve stud. You should now separate the 2 air solenoid valve studs and the air solenoid valve with its gasket from the engine compartment. To install the air solenoid valve with its corresponding gasket onto the engine the technician must install 2 air solenoid valve studs and torque them tightly to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Refasten the transmission fluid level indicator tube onto the air solenoid valve stud but secure it with the nut that requires a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Position the air solenoid valve on the engine first. After that install the electrical connector to the air solenoid valve then install the air cleaner outlet duct.
