Control the steering system by starting with outer tie rod removal before removing the hex jam nut of the inner tie rod assembly. Cutting the clamp off using side cutters from the Rack and Pinion Boot allows boot clamp removal. Then throw out the boot clamp after you complete the tie rod end clamp removal from the Rack and Pinion Boot. Mark the breather tube on the gear assembly before removing the tube or the Rack and Pinion Boot. Next remove both the Rack and Pinion Boot and the breather tube from the area. Secure the new boot clamp onto the Rack and Pinion Boot before proceeding.
