First, you need to turn off the ignition, then disable the sir system in order to replace the Steering Wheel. Remove the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module and scribe an alignment mark on the Steering Wheel hub aligning it with the slash mark on the
Steering Shaft. Loosen the Steering Wheel nut and place in on the end of the Steering Shaft. Attach the j 1859-a Steering Wheel puller (J 1859-A) along with the j 42578 Steering Wheel puller legs (J 42578) to the Steering Wheel and then use this assembly to knock the Steering Wheel off the Steering Shaft. Pull off the puller, Steering Shaft nut and remove the Steering Wheel and unroute sir connector from the Steering Wheel. For installation, yon route the sir connector through the new Steering Wheel and align the scribe mark with the slash mark on Steering Shaft then install the Steering Wheel. Mount the Steering Shaft nut after tightening to a torque of 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs). Lastly, install the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module and activate the sir system and inspect on the history of the horn, Steering Wheel, and Steering Wheel controls.
