  Starting Wiper Motor replacement requires you to remove both wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Start by using the wiper transmission separator (J 39232) tool to disconnect the wiper transmission from the Wiper Motor crank arm followed by removing the Wiper Motor electrical connector. Use a screwdriver to remove three screws which will separate the wiper drive system module from the vehicle before you remove the rubber boot from the Wiper Motor crank arm. Through gently tapping with a soft-faced mallet while lifting the Wiper Motor crank arm you can loosen the screw. Start by taking out the Wiper Motor crank arm and the screw it uses to attach to the Wiper Motor next remove three screws to let the Wiper Motor detach from the wiper drive system module as you also need to take the shaft seal and water shield. Installation requires placing the water shield followed by the shaft seal onto the Wiper Motor first. Secure the Wiper Motor with three screws to the wiper drive system module through a 7 n.m (62 lb in) torque sequence. Turn on the ignition while setting the Wiper Switch to delay before reconnecting the electrical connector to the Wiper Motor. After the Wiper Motor stops at the innerwipe position disconnect the electrical connector and power down both the ignition and electrical connector. Secure the Wiper Motor crank arm to the Wiper Motor by placing it on the appropriate spot to maintain 4-8 mm (0.157-0.314 in) distance between the bracket tab and crank arm before you tighten the retaining screw to 16 n.m (142 lb in). Storage the wiper boot on the Wiper Motor crank arm before reinstalling the wiper drive system module using three screws tightened to 10 n.m (88 lb in). To complete the installation, route the wiper transmission with the wiper transmission installer (J 39529) to the Wiper Motor crank arm. After reconnecting the electrical connector, reattach the air inlet grille panel and wiper arms while verifying the wipers operate correctly.
