Wiper Motor

The first step to replacing the Wiper Motor includes taking off both wiper arms from the wiper transmission drive shafts and the entire air inlet grille panel from the car. Extract the Wiper Motor connector after that use tool j 39232 to disconnect the wiper transmission from the Wiper Motor crank arm. You must first remove three screws to take away the wiper drive system part then smoothly pull the Wiper Motor crank arm off the Wiper Motor. Disconnect the boot from the crank arm, turn its screw loose, and tap the boot with a soft mallet alongside lifting action until the crank arm becomes free. Lift out the Wiper Motor after unscrewing three screws from the wiper drive system module and then take away the shaft seal and water shield from the Wiper Motor. Start the installation by adding the water shield and shaft seal onto the Wiper Motor. You should place the Wiper Motor onto the wiper drive system module and use three screws to secure it at 7 n.m torque (62 lbs torque). Secure the Wiper Motor crank arm to the Wiper Motor then connect its connector to allow the motor to run while the Ignition Switch is shifted to accy and Wiper Switch to pulse. When the Wiper Motor reaches inner wipe mode switch off the ignition and take off the connection. Install the Wiper Motor crank arm with a 4 to 8 mm (0.157 to 0.314 inches) gap between parts and attach the screw afterward. Reassemble the wiper drive unit three screws and fasten them at 10 n.m torque (88 lb in). Then use the wiper transmission installer (J 39529) to join the wiper transmission to the crank arm. Connect the Wiper Motor connector and return the air inlet grille panel. Test the wipers to ensure they work correctly.

Starting Wiper Motor replacement requires you to remove both wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Start by using the wiper transmission separator (J 39232) tool to disconnect the wiper transmission from the Wiper Motor crank arm followed by removing the Wiper Motor electrical connector. Use a screwdriver to remove three screws which will separate the wiper drive system module from the vehicle before you remove the rubber boot from the Wiper Motor crank arm. Through gently tapping with a soft-faced mallet while lifting the Wiper Motor crank arm you can loosen the screw. Start by taking out the Wiper Motor crank arm and the screw it uses to attach to the Wiper Motor next remove three screws to let the Wiper Motor detach from the wiper drive system module as you also need to take the shaft seal and water shield. Installation requires placing the water shield followed by the shaft seal onto the Wiper Motor first. Secure the Wiper Motor with three screws to the wiper drive system module through a 7 n.m (62 lb in) torque sequence. Turn on the ignition while setting the Wiper Switch to delay before reconnecting the electrical connector to the Wiper Motor. After the Wiper Motor stops at the innerwipe position disconnect the electrical connector and power down both the ignition and electrical connector. Secure the Wiper Motor crank arm to the Wiper Motor by placing it on the appropriate spot to maintain 4-8 mm (0.157-0.314 in) distance between the bracket tab and crank arm before you tighten the retaining screw to 16 n.m (142 lb in). Storage the wiper boot on the Wiper Motor crank arm before reinstalling the wiper drive system module using three screws tightened to 10 n.m (88 lb in). To complete the installation, route the wiper transmission with the wiper transmission installer (J 39529) to the Wiper Motor crank arm. After reconnecting the electrical connector, reattach the air inlet grille panel and wiper arms while verifying the wipers operate correctly.

To change the wiper motor, start by taking off the air inlet grille panel, the wiper motor crank arm, and the wiper drives system module. Next, turn off the wiper motor screws and next remove the wiper motor from the wiper drive system module. Then take out the shaft seal and the water shield from the wiper motor. For installation, start by laying the water shield and shaft seal into the wiper motor, and position the wiper motor to wiper drive system module, be sure to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Install wiper motor screws and clamping torque to weight 7 N.m (62 lb in). Lastly, replace the wiper drive system module wiper motor crank arm as well as the air inlet grille panel.

Start repairing the wiper motor by taking the wiper arms off with the air inlet grille panel. Disconnect the wiper transmission and then remove the power connection for the wiper motor using the Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232). Use an appropriate tool to loosen three screws then take the wiper drive system out. The next step is to separate the rubber boot from the wiper motor crank arm. Securely push a soft mallet against a screw of the wiper motor even as you raise the crank arm until the screw loosens then extract it along with the crank arm. You must disconnect the wiper motor first from its wiper drive system module by taking out three screws. Then remove the shaft seal and water shield from the wiper motor unit. Place the water shield first then add the shaft seal on the wiper motor unit for proper installation. Secure the wiper motor onto its assembly using three screws and tighten them to 7 N.m (62 pounds of torque). Slide on the motor connector then start the ignition while selecting DELAY on the switch. Change the ignition to OFF after the wiper motor stops at its interior wipe position and extract the electrical connector again. Fasten the wiper motor crank arm to the wiper motor so its bracket tab has a 4-8 mm space to the lower arm and torque the retaining screw to 16 N.m pressure. Hold the rubber boot onto the wiper motor crank arm before mounting the wiper drive system module back to the vehicle with three screws at 10 N.m (88 lb in). Put the wiper transmission installer (J 39529) device on the wiper motor crank arm to link components properly. After that plug the wiper motor electrical connection back in, install the air inlet grille panel, wiper arms, and test the windshield wipers.

Begin the wiper motor replacement process with the Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232) and Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529). Start the process by taking off both wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Insert the Wiper Transmission Separator tool (J 39232) to disconnect the wiper motor crank arm connection. Lastly, remove the shaft seal and water shield from the wiper motor. Start by installing the water shield and shaft seal onto the wiper motor before further assembly. Insert the motor into the drive system module then secure it with three screws by tightening them to 7 N.m (62 lb in). Secure the electrical connector to the wiper motor then start the ignition and put the wiper switch to DELAY. When the wiper motor stops at its innerwipe position turn off the key and separate the electrical connector once more. Secure the wiper motor crank arm on the motor while leaving 4-8 mm (0.157-0.314 inches) space near the bracket tab. Fasten it with a retaining screw and tighten it to 16 N.m (142 lb in). Put the wiper drive system module in position and fasten it through three screws until they reach 10 N.m (88 lb in). Use the Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529) to put the wiper transmission on the wiper motor crank arm and link it back up to the wiper motor. Restore the air inlet grille panel and place both wiper arms. Check if the windshield wipers function correctly.
