Before replacing the Wiper Arm switch to accy while setting the Wiper Switch to pulse then turn off the ignition. Press the ignition button when your wipers pause at the bottom point of their motion. First disconnect the washer hose from the washer nozzle and then remove the cover from the nut. After that take off the Wiper Arm and wiper transmission drive shaft nut. To continue with Wiper Arm removal use the Wiper Arm puller tool reference number j 39822. Press and rock the Wiper Arm off the wiper transmission drive shaft before you uninstall the Wiper Blade. To install the wiper system start by adding the Wiper Blade to the Wiper Arm and applying the Wiper Arm to the wiper transmission drive shaft. Turn on the accy mode and set the Wiper Switch at pulse to verify correct windshield wiper system function. Stop the engine once the wiper drive system rests at the bottom of its motion. At installation put the measuring device parallel to the Wiper Blade and insert the same-size tool into the Wiper Arm. Mount the Wiper Arm onto the wiper transmission drive shaft through proper locations. Keep the Wiper Arm tip 12 to 147 mm or 4.92 to 5.78 inches from the left air inlet grill panel and 97 to 107 mm or 3.82 to 4.21 inches from the right air inlet screen. Screw the drive shaft nut onto the wiper transmission and Wiper Arm then tighten it to 30 newton-meter (22 pound foot). Apply windshield washer solvent on the hose end and insert the pin back into its place before connecting the washer hose to the nozzle. Use the wipers before checking if they function as intended.

Before you begin mounting the new Wiper Arm engage the ignition then set the Wiper Switch to delay before turning the ignition off when wiper arms reach the bottom of their movement. Take off the Wiper Arm nut by loosening its washer hose connection at the washer nozzle then removing the cover. The Wiper Arm puller (J 39822) allows you to separate the Wiper Arm from its connection on the wiper transmission drive shaft. To install position the measuring tool perpendicular to the Wiper Blade then put a pin or drill bit of the same size into the Wiper Arm to release the spring tension. Put both wiper arms onto their respective wiper transmission drive shafts while confirming that the right arm measures 97-107 millimeters (3.82-4.21 inches) from the wiper end to the air inlet screen and the left arm starts 125-147 millimeters (4.92-5.78 inches) from the wiper tip to the screen. Hand-tighten the Wiper Arm nut till it reaches the torque level of 30 n.m or 22 lb ft. Reinstall the wiper cover after taking the pin from the Wiper Arm and connect the washer hose back to the washer nozzle. Check Windshield Wiper performance by running the system.

Turn the ignition ON and set the wiper switch to DELAY.

Ensure you have the necessary tools: Wiper Arm Puller (J 39822).

Turn off the ignition when the wiper arms are at the bottom of the wipe pattern and not moving.

Install the wiper arm nut cover, reconnect the washer hose to the wiper arm, and operate the windshield wipers to inspect for proper operation.

Reconnect the washer hose to the wiper arm and operate the windshield wipers to verify proper functionality.

The right arm should be 97-107 mm (3.82-4.21 in) from the end of the wiper arm to the air inlet screen, and the left arm should be 125-147 mm (4.92-5.78 in) from the wiper blade tip to the air inlet screen.

Install the nut onto the wiper transmission drive shaft and wiper arm, tightening it to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

Turn the ignition ON and set the wiper switch to DELAY.

Remove the pin from the wiper arm, install the cover on the nut, and reconnect the washer hose to the washer nozzle.

Reconnect the washer hose to the wiper arm and operate the windshield wipers to inspect for proper operation.
