Buick Regal Wiper Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers
A: To replace the Wiper Arm start by getting all the replacement parts particularly Wiper Arm puller (J 39822). Enter accy mode while placing the Wiper Switch into pulse. Remember to turn off the engine only after you see the windshield wipers at the lowest part of their pattern without movement. Unplug the washer hose from the washer nozzle before you remove the nut cover and extract both the nut and the Wiper Arm from the wiper transmission drive shaft. When rockin does not release the Wiper Arm use the Wiper Arm pullers j 39822 device to take it off. After removal take the Wiper Blade off the mounting arm. To start the process attach the Wiper Blade first onto the Wiper Arm base. First put the Wiper Arm on the drive shaft with the transmission shaft in accy position and pulse switch to make wipers work. Shut off engine power when the windshield wiper unit reaches its lowest position during wiping. Keep the measuring tool straight while attaching it to the Wiper Blade and insert the pin or drill bit of same size into the Wiper Arm during installation. Keep the appropriate space between the wiper shaft and air inlet components: set the right wiper at 97-107 mm (3.82-4.21 inches) and left wiper at 12-147 mm (4.92-5.78 inches). Fasten the drive shaft and arm nut by turning it 30 n.m (22 lb ft) to operate the wiper transmission. Transfer the Wiper Arm pin before mounting the cover onto the nut. Apply windshield washer solvent on the hose then attach it to the washer nozzle for simplified installation. Check the wiper movement before turning the system off.
