  A: Before repairing the Parking Brake Shoe on a rear disc brake system you must elevate and stabilize the vehicle before removing both tires together with their respective wheels. To start this procedure normalize pressure in the park brake system at the equalizer assembly followed by removal of the rear caliper bracket together with the rear rotor. Before installation disconnect the rear park brake cable from its bracket at the wheel position while also separating the park brake cable return spring from both the park brake actuator and its bracket. The hub removal step requires elimination of the assembly containing the backing plate alongside the park brake cable bracket and park brake actuator. Pull away the two retainers and the park brake cable bracket from the park brake actuator before you extract the park brake shoe and actuator from the backing plate and disconnect the park brake shoe from the actuator. The park brake shoe should be assembled to the actuator for installation onto the backing plate. Mount the assembly over the rear hub before you install the two retainers together with the park brake cable bracket. The rear park brake cable must be connected to the rear wheel bracket while the park brake cable return spring should be fixed between the park brake actuator and bracket. Complete installation by adding the rear rotor alongside the rear caliper bracket and rear tire and wheel units then adjust the park brake system and lower the vehicle.
