Afterward latch the Piston retainer and lift out the primary Piston assembly from the cylinder. Insert plugs into the cylinder ports and back port before putting low non-oiled air into the front outlet to dissolve the secondary Piston with its seals and spring. Get rid of the primary Piston assembly with the Piston retainer and seals from the secondary Piston unit. Before assembly clean and inspect master cylinder parts including secondary Piston and return spring while looking for flaws during denatured alcohol treatment. Replace the master cylinder if any harm is observed. Use filtered dry air to clear all pieces before you fill the master cylinder bore, secondary Piston, return spring and other parts with delco supreme 11 (R) gm brake fluid p/n 12377967 or matching dot-3 brake fluid. Install the primary seal and retainer with new lubricant together with the secondary seal onto the secondary Piston before putting in the lubricated return spring and secondary Piston assembly into the cylinder bore. Finally insert the primary Piston assembly with its new lubricant. Position the new Piston properly using a rounded tool then put back the master cylinder reservoir with its parts as you replace the master cylinder.

  The Brake Master Cylinder replacement must start with removing the brake pipes and the fluid level sensor connector. Take out the master cylinder nuts, then take off the master cylinder. Take out the master cylinder reservoir after emptying all the brake fluid. Begin the installation by putting in the master cylinder reservoir and bench bleeding the master cylinder before installing it. Then, put the master cylinder into place and tighten the mounting nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Connect the brake pipes and the fluid level sensor electrical connector to the master cylinder, and tighten the tube nuts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). At the end, top up the master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid and bleed the entire brake system.
