  Q: How to service the Air Filter element on Cadillac Catera?

  A: To service the Air Filter first pull the coolant line that travels up the top of the air cleaner housing out of the way. Loosen the hose clamp that attaches the air duct to the air cleaner housing, and then loosen the screws at the edge of the air cleaner housing lid. Remove the Air Filter after lifting up the air cleaner lid and disconnecting it from the air duct. For installation, ensure that the air cleaner base and lid should be clean of dirt and contaminants before placing the Air Filter in the air cleaner lid. Put the air cleaner lid and filter back in place as one unit, ensuring that the air duct is engaged, when the assembly is put in place. Tighten the perimeter screws on the air cleaner housing lid, ensure the air duct is tightly fastened to the air cleaner lid, and tightly fasten the clamp on top of the air duct to a torque of 3 n.m (27 lb in). Lastly, reposition the coolant line in its retainers on top of the air cleaner housing lid.
