Cadillac Catera Fuel Pressure Regulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the fuel pressure regulator on Cadillac Catera?
A: Service of the Fuel Pressure Regulator requires the removal of intake plenum and fuel pressure relief. The service process requires putting a shop towel beneath the Fuel Pressure Regulator so it can catch any lost fuel. The atmospheric vent hose should be removed from the regulator before extracting the retaining bolt from its clamp. The clamp should be spread apart to remove it from the regulator while taking note of the atmospheric vent's original position for future reinstallation. When separating the Fuel Pressure Regulator from the Fuel Rail both twisting and pulling the regulator is necessary. Before installing the regulator into the Fuel Rail users must add a few drops of clean engine oil to the o-rings then carefully put the vent in its original position. Put the atmospheric vent hose onto the regulator port after securing the clamp and bolt with a torque of 5 n.m (44 lb in). Begin by connecting the negative Battery Cable and activate the fuel pump through the scan tool for system pressurization then inspect for fuel leakages. Finally, reinstall the intake plenum.
