Begin by removing both the oil level indicator from tube then extracting the tube bolt. The Knock Sensor must be removed while the vehicle is in the raised position before you can detach the heat shield clip from the oil level indicator tube. Observe where the secondary heat shield exists on the oil level indicator tube before extracting the tube from the Exhaust Manifold. The task involves replacing only the oil level indicator tube seal so discard the removed seal. The installation requires placing the secondary heat shield properly on the oil level indicator tube before you install both the oil level indicator and tube. After installing the Knock Sensor and heat shield clip you must lower the vehicle and restore the front compartment sight shield if required.
