You need to remove the Hood Latch from its position while disconnecting the Hood Cable from the Hood Latch. To help install the Hood Cable through the engine compartment attach a string to the Hood Cable. Begin by removing the front wheelhouse liner while you open all the clips which secure the Hood Cable to the vehicle. Unbolt the fasteners maintaining the hood release handle's position before separating the cable from its handle. Begin by wrapping a string around the Hood Cable to aid its installation through the passenger compartment before removing the Hood Cable grommet at the wheel opening and the actual cable. Route the string to the new Hood Cable end before directing both components towards the passenger compartment while you remove the string afterward. Use the wheel opening to position the Hood Cable grommet before attaching the cable to the hood release handle and securely fastening the handle with fasteners. Use the string to pull the Hood Cable through the engine bay before removing it again to position the cable within the clips which you then secure. You need to install the front wheelhouse liner together with the Hood Latch and upper filler panel and then close the hood.
