Move the outer tie rod assembly over the inner tie rod but leave the jam nut unrestrained. Fasten the outer tie rod assembly to the Steering Knuckle with a hex slotted nut that must be tightened to 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). The hex slotted nut needs extra turns of 1/6 for slot alignment before reaching a torque limit of 70 nm (52 ft. Lbs.), stop tightening before adding the cotter pin.
